Job Description

The Project Associate will support IOM Bulgaria's Labour Mobility and Inclusion activities, especially through the Migrant Information and Resource Center in Sofia, by handling project administration, reporting, coordination and beneficiary records.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation and monitoring of Labour Mobility and Inclusion project activities
  • Provide administrative, financial and logistical support to project activities
  • Support Migrant Information and Resource Centers across Bulgaria through referrals and administrative follow-up
  • Organize Bulgarian language training groups and maintain beneficiary trainee records
  • Support communication channels with beneficiaries on migrant mobility and integration
  • Prepare monthly activity reports and inputs for final technical project reports

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or bachelor's degree with three years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience liaising with government authorities, institutions, UN agencies and non-governmental organizations
  • Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups
  • Fluency in Bulgarian and English

Desired Criteria

  • Prior work experience with humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions in a multicultural setting
  • Previous work experience with EU donors
  • Previous experience working with migrants and refugees
  • Working knowledge of Russian

Additional Information

  • Fixed-term contract for one year with possibility of extension
  • Role supports Migrant Information and Resource Centers including Burgas, Varna and Plovdiv
  • Appointment is subject to funding confirmation, medical fitness, residency or visa requirements and security clearances
