Job Description

UNDP seeks a Project Analyst in Astana to help deliver its local-governance reform project. The role coordinates work planning and implementation, advises on project delivery, builds partnerships with government and development actors, supports stakeholder engagement and capacity development, and monitors results, risks and reporting against approved plans and budgets.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project planning and implementation against approved project documents and work plans
  • Prepare and update work plans, monitor activities and follow up on implementation challenges
  • Provide technical advice to deliver outputs on time, within budget and to quality standards
  • Coordinate project activities with government counterparts, local authorities and development partners
  • Organize technical meetings, consultations, training sessions and stakeholder engagement
  • Monitor results, manage emerging risks and prepare corporate, donor and government reports

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in social sciences, international development, public administration, economics, political sciences or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant experience in management advisory services or projects mainstreaming Sustainable Development Goals in Kazakhstan
  • Experience working with national government institutions, local authorities, communities and civil society organizations
  • Fluency in English and Russian or Kazakh
