Job Description

Supports UN Women's Rohingya response in Cox's Bazar as a UN Volunteer Programme Officer. The role strengthens women-led resilience and participation through programme-quality support, results-based planning and monitoring, partnerships and coordination, knowledge management, and technical assistance to government, partners, women-led networks and community networks.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to programme approaches that strengthen the resilience and participation of Rohingya and host-community women
  • Support programme quality assurance through standards, procedures, guidelines, checklists and templates
  • Contribute monitoring and analysis that inform adaptive management and continuous quality improvement
  • Support results-based programme management, indicators, baselines, targets and financial-compliance capacity
  • Assist workplans, activity sequencing and implementation strategies aligned with UN Women standards and donor commitments
  • Support partnerships and coordination with government, women-led organizations, community volunteers and inter-agency sectors
  • Draft briefs, donor reports and success stories and support learning, assessments, trainings and workshops

Role Requirements

  • Three years of experience in gender and development and/or humanitarian work
  • Specialization in public policy, development studies, economics, education, gender studies or a closely related discipline
  • Experience working with government, donors, the UN or another international development or humanitarian organization
  • Excellent oral and written drafting, formulation and reporting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team and challenging environment

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in programme management or support
  • Affinity with gender equality, women's empowerment, volunteerism and the UN system
  • Familiarity with communications-for-development tools and approaches
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and tight deadlines
