Job Description

Coordinates UNICEF's sub-national WASH Cluster operations in Ukraine, facilitating planning with local authorities, partners and focal points. The officer convenes coordination meetings, analyses needs and response data, identifies geographic and technical gaps, and secures commitments from humanitarian actors to deliver coherent WASH emergency assistance in Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Facilitate operational coordination meetings and follow up agreed actions
  • Engage authorities, civil society and regional WASH actors
  • Coordinate with Health, Shelter, Education and other cluster focal points
  • Analyse needs and response data with the national coordination team
  • Identify geographic, activity and technical gaps in WASH response
  • Prevent overlap and duplication in cluster activities
  • Secure commitments from humanitarian actors to respond to WASH emergencies

Role Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant technical, natural, social, medical, public-administration or related field
  • At least two years of WASH, emergency, humanitarian coordination, cluster coordination or related experience
  • English and Ukrainian at proficient or fluent level

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language
  • Humanitarian response and recovery planning experience
  • Water utility management or municipal-infrastructure experience
  • Multi-stakeholder coordination and meeting-facilitation experience
  • Country-level experience in fragile or humanitarian contexts
