Job Description

Coordinates International Trade Centre programme development and portfolio oversight across East African Community member states and Ethiopia. The officer analyses regional developments, supports country planning, project design and risk tracking, and helps the regional director strengthen partnerships, mobilise resources and represent ITC in African Union, EAC and UN coordination forums.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor programme development and implementation and track follow-up actions
  • Analyse social, economic and political developments relevant to ITC's mandate
  • Coordinate the regional project portfolio and flag risks to delivery
  • Develop project concepts and designs and support needs-assessment missions
  • Draft donor correspondence, concept notes and funding proposals
  • Prepare briefings and coordination materials for UNCT and regional engagements

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in business administration, project management, economics, international relations, political science, social sciences or a related field
  • A first-level university degree in the listed subjects plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted instead
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in programme or portfolio oversight, coordination, external relations, programme management or business administration
  • English is required

Desired Criteria

  • Data analytics, business analytics or data science training
  • Data analytics experience
  • Experience supporting senior representation or regional office operations
  • Experience in resource mobilisation, donor reporting or UN Country Team processes
  • Experience with AU, EAC or other regional bodies
