Overview
Plans and delivers ITU telecommunication-development programmes across the Americas. The officer identifies country needs, develops and monitors projects, mobilizes resources, builds regional partnerships, supports digital inclusion and capacity building, and maintains the Panama Area Office’s IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities
- Identify regional connectivity and digital-inclusion needs and design responses
- Prepare project agreements, feasibility assessments and approval recommendations
- Mobilize resources and coordinate with governments, regulators, banks and UN partners
- Prepare operational plans, activity budgets and implementation reports
- Coordinate trust-fund projects and guide consultants, donors and government counterparts
- Maintain Area Office servers, networks, connectivity, devices and web content
Requirements
- Advanced degree in telecommunications engineering, ICT, economics, management or a related field
- Five years of progressively responsible relevant experience, including two years at international level
- Advanced knowledge of one ITU official language and intermediate knowledge of a second ITU official language
- Excellent knowledge of the ICT and telecommunications ecosystem and emerging trends in the Americas
