Country Project Coordination Consultant

ITU is establishing a roster of Country Project Coordination Consultants to support Africa-BB-Maps implementation in ten beneficiary countries. Consultants coordinate stakeholders and contractors, monitor milestones and risks, organize meetings and missions, document progress, and help complete national regulatory arrangements needed for project implementation and equipment deployment.

• Coordinate day-to-day project implementation in the assigned beneficiary country
• Serve as the national focal point with beneficiary institutions, contractors, government entities and stakeholders
• Coordinate with the Regional Project Coordinator on reporting and consistent implementation
• Monitor milestones and deliverables and escalate implementation risks and issues
• Organize national meetings, workshops, training activities, missions and consultations
• Monitor contractor activities and support national data collection and stakeholder engagement
• Prepare implementation updates, progress reports, meeting minutes and action trackers
• Support administrative and regulatory arrangements including customs clearance and duty and tax relief

• University degree or equivalent advanced college diploma in telecommunications, ICT, GIS, computer science, engineering, project management, business administration or a related field
• At least five years of project coordination, implementation or management experience involving government institutions, regulatory authorities, development partners or the private sector
• Experience monitoring project implementation and preparing progress reports
• Knowledge of the national administrative, institutional and regulatory context of the assigned country, including customs-clearance and duty-and-tax-relief procedures
• Candidates must be nationals of or legal residents with a valid work permit in the beneficiary country and reside there throughout the assignment

• Experience in telecommunications, digital infrastructure, GIS, ICT or related sectors is desirable
• Previous experience with the United Nations or another international organization is desirable
