Job Description

Supports IFRC operations by conducting operational and tactical procurement for goods and services across regions. Based in Budapest, the officer prepares purchase orders and reports, develops framework agreements, identifies and vets suppliers, monitors performance, trains colleagues on procurement systems, and maintains audit-ready documentation while ensuring quality, price and timing.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct operational and tactical procurement for goods and services
  • Ensure goods and services meet quality, price and timing requirements
  • Prepare purchase orders and procurement-management reports
  • Develop framework agreements for goods and services
  • Map suppliers and perform supplier due diligence
  • Provide procurement-system guidance and training
  • Maintain audit-trail documentation and support field deployments

Role Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field or proven professional experience
  • Two to three years of relevant procurement experience in complex high-volume supply-chain operations
  • Experience supporting tactical and operational procurement
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Legal eligibility to work in Hungary

Desired Criteria

  • Professional procurement or logistics qualification
  • Red Cross Red Crescent knowledge and experience
  • Spanish or French language ability
  • Arabic or Russian language ability
