Climate Science Specialist

This home-based UN Women consultancy develops a training module on artificial intelligence, institutional transformation and gender-responsive statistical leadership. The consultant designs learning materials and incorporates technical feedback. The assignment finalizes resources, facilitates remote training and hands over materials for leaders considering AI-related institutional decision-making.

• Conduct climate and environmental assessments to inform Panama’s NDC targets and climate policies
• Prepare policy briefs translating scientific findings into actionable insights for government stakeholders
• Support the National Protocol on Planned Relocations through inter-institutional consultations
• Support coordination among institutional, scientific and financial actors involved in climate finance
• Prepare quarterly and annual reports on progress, challenges and recommendations

• Master’s degree in climate change, environmental management, international environmental law, sustainable development, international relations or a related field with five years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with seven years of relevant experience
• Experience in international cooperation and management of cooperation projects
• Experience in climate adaptation, territorial resilience or environmental governance
• Fluency in English and Spanish

• Research on gender issues with working understanding of AI, machine learning and LLMs
