Responsibilities
- Design, plan, implement and monitor regular and extrabudgetary science programmes
- Build human and institutional capacity across UNESCO science priorities
- Support Member States in developing and implementing national and regional science policies and programmes
- Maintain partnerships with authorities, universities, research bodies, UN teams, donors and civil society
- Identify, design and deliver extrabudgetary projects and mobilise programme resources
- Contribute to UN country programming and sustainable-development cooperation frameworks
- Prepare programme, budget, workplan and organisational reporting inputs
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in natural sciences or a related field such as environment, ecology, hydrology, earth sciences, basic sciences or engineering
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in project and programme implementation
- At least four years of progressively responsible professional experience in natural sciences
- Experience planning, designing, managing, implementing and evaluating programmes or projects relevant to UNESCO's mandate
- Experience in fundraising, resource mobilisation and strategic partnership building
- Excellent spoken and written English and native Spanish
- Chilean nationality or permission to work in Chile
