Job Description
Conducts a policy and regulatory review of dietary risk factors for WHO Myanmar, identifying gaps and advancing reforms for noncommunicable-disease prevention. The consultant will develop assessment tools and advocacy materials, convene ministries and stakeholders, and produce a practical roadmap that supports healthier food environments and reduces salt, sugar, trans-fat and other dietary risks.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop desk-review methodology, assessment tools and a workplan for dietary-risk-factor policies
- Review laws, policies and guidelines on salt, sugar, trans-fat, food labelling, taxation and unhealthy-food marketing
- Prepare a policy and regulatory gap-analysis report identifying strengths, gaps and priorities
- Develop advocacy materials and conduct technical consultations and key-informant interviews
- Facilitate a multisectoral stakeholder workshop and document recommendations and next steps
- Prepare a roadmap or action plan for policy and regulatory reform on dietary risk factors
Role Requirements
- First university degree in public health, nutrition, medicine, health sciences or a relevant field
- Five to ten years of relevant experience in public health, nutrition, NCD prevention, health policy or policy and regulatory analysis
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Excellent knowledge of Myanmar
Desired Criteria
- Master's or advanced degree in public health, nutrition, health policy, health systems or NCDs
- Specialised training in nutrition policy, NCD prevention, dietary risk factors, health promotion or policy analysis
- Experience reviewing dietary-risk-factor policies and regulations
- Experience developing advocacy materials and facilitating multisectoral consultations
- Experience with WHO, UN agencies, government institutions or international development partners

Additional Information
