Job Description

This UNV online mentoring assignment helps UNFPA Burundi interns build practical understanding of climate and environmental links to sexual and reproductive health, population dynamics and gender-based violence. The mentor supports climate-resilience data, technical documentation, advocacy and collaboration with national environmental stakeholders to strengthen resilient programming.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Build interns' understanding of climate-change impacts on sexual and reproductive health, population dynamics and gender-based violence
  • Provide technical support to integrate environmental and climate issues into the ninth cooperation programme
  • Contribute to collecting and analysing data on population vulnerability to climate shocks
  • Prepare technical notes, situation reports and project proposals on climate resilience
  • Participate in advocacy and community-awareness activities on climate justice and health
  • Help prepare working meetings, workshops and partnerships with national environmental stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in environmental studies, climate, sustainable development or a related field
  • Fluent written and spoken French, English and Kirundi
  • Basic knowledge of administration and project management
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and social media
