Overview
Supports PAHO teams through supervised internship assignments in research, data organisation, drafting and event delivery. The programme gives students and recent graduates practical exposure to international public health work while providing technical units with project-based assistance.

Responsibilities
- Review literature and conduct research on assigned technical subjects
- Collect, organise and maintain project data and documents
- Support development of tools, guidelines and technical resources
- Draft, format and edit policy briefs, manuals, brochures and reports
- Help organise workshops, meetings, conferences and events
- Contribute to departmental projects under a technical expert’s supervision
Requirements
- Final-year bachelor’s student, student enrolled in a master’s or doctoral programme, or graduate from a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programme within the last two years
- Fluency in at least one PAHO working language: English, Spanish, Portuguese or French
- At least 20 years old on the date of application
- No relationship to a PAHO staff member as defined by Staff Rule 410.3
- No relationship to an individual working for a national government or local authority
- No previous participation in the PAHO internship programme

- Assignments may be completed in person or virtually
- Interns receive a living allowance
- Candidates are responsible for obtaining and financing any required visa
- PAHO provides medical, death and permanent-disability insurance during the internship
- Interns are ineligible for PAHO appointments for six months after the internship
