Job Description

Supports ESCAP's Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Section with official communications on gender equality and women's empowerment. The intern develops digital and public-information content, produces multimedia materials, researches evidence for reports, helps convene events and provides photography and video coverage for the section's gender-mainstreaming work.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Draft social-media, website, news-story and blog content
  • Produce infographics, slides, event materials and short videos
  • Research and compile information for reports
  • Assist with commemorations, meetings, seminars and workshops
  • Provide photography and video coverage when required

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be enrolled in or have completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme
  • Fluency in English is required for the internship
  • Demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to the ideals of the Charter

Desired Criteria

  • Practical experience with social media, graphic design, video editing or communications software
  • Experience adapting briefing notes, press releases or speeches for digital publishing
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex research into common language
  • Experience on gender equality, women's empowerment, care economy or entrepreneurship
