Job Description

Supports OCHA’s leadership with social-media campaigns, multimedia design and monitoring. The intern researches impact stories and audience trends, drafts engagement content, produces branded graphics and promotional materials, manages image selection and metadata, tracks media recognition, and advances social-media strategy for humanitarian partnerships, advocacy and crisis-response fundraising.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support social-media campaign planning, development and implementation for the Director’s X and LinkedIn accounts
  • Research and create StoryHub impact stories
  • Support campaigns for flagship events and missions
  • Draft content for social-media engagement
  • Design branded graphics, posters, flyers and promotional materials
  • Select images and provide metadata for captioning and archiving
  • Organise clearance, production and distribution of social-media material
  • Monitor media impact, recognition content, social-media analytics and emerging tools

Role Requirements

  • Enrolment in or completion of a graduate programme, or enrolment in or completion of the final academic year of a bachelor-level programme in a field related to the internship
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Previous social-media experience in a private or public-sector setting
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for social-media text, articles and videos
  • Knowledge of another UN official language
