Job Description

This full-time internship supports the Policy, Intergovernmental and Partnerships Section in advancing UN security policy and resource mobilisation. The intern will research security issues and donor trends, prepare meeting records and briefing materials, maintain intelligence on funding priorities, and assist donor engagement, advocacy events and knowledge products for the UN Security Management System.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Produce minutes for IASMN discussions and other meetings
  • Prepare weekly briefings on global security developments
  • Research security policy issues in response to queries
  • Contribute to security knowledge products including papers, handbooks, infographics and webinars
  • Research donors, partners and security-related funding trends
  • Maintain a database of donor priorities, funding trends and donor intelligence
  • Support donor meetings and advocacy events with background notes and presentations

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final year of a first university degree, or have completed a university degree
  • Field of study closely related to the internship
  • Computer literacy in standard software applications including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
