Job Description
Strengthens food safety and quality assurance across WFP's supply chain, from programme design and sourcing through storage, transport and distribution. The officer supports risk management, incident response and regulatory compliance; works with supply-chain colleagues, authorities and partners; and builds systems and local capacity that protect beneficiary health and food-assistance integrity.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Implement food-safety policies and procedures aligned with WFP's FSQA and supply-chain strategies
- Embed food safety and quality requirements in food-assistance programme design and operations
- Gather information for incident documentation, investigations and emergency responses to food-safety concerns
- Support field systems, product specifications, supplier assessment and compliance testing to prevent FSQA issues
- Provide technical inputs to supply-chain colleagues and monitor food safety throughout the supply chain
- Collect and organize data for planning, reporting and improvements to FSQA and supply-chain performance
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in food technology, food sciences, nutrition or a related field, or a first university degree with two additional years of related experience
- Five years of relevant experience, including one year of professional experience in food safety and quality
- Knowledge of and experience with Yemen's food-safety and quality regulatory environment and protocols
- Experience or training in food-safety and quality protocols in operational contexts
- English and Arabic

- Experience with data collection and analysis for operational decision-making
- Experience working collaboratively across functional areas and supporting emergency operations
