Job Description

Based in Aden, the Logistics Officer leads WFP Yemen’s supply-chain funds-management function under the Head of Supply Chain. The role standardizes processes and controls, oversees payments, cash-flow forecasting and Food Transfer Cost budgeting, tracks and reconciles funds, maintains corporate financial tools, and provides analysis, reports and advice for efficient food-assistance operations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement supply-chain plans, procedures and operations
  • Analyze supply-chain data and prepare reports, dashboards and visual materials
  • Standardize funds-management processes and maintain SOPs and guidance
  • Supervise supply-chain payment processing and provide financial advice
  • Prepare cash-flow forecasts and Food Transfer Cost budgets and reviews
  • Monitor, reconcile and report funds utilization and recommend corrective actions
  • Maintain financial tools, systems and expenditure-monitoring controls
  • Prepare funding analyses, budgets and financial status reports for projects and governance forums

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, Accounting, Finance or a related field, or a first university degree with additional related experience and/or training
  • Five years of relevant experience, including one year of professional experience using supply-chain information systems and ERP applications
  • Experience preparing, implementing and monitoring budgets
  • Demonstrated experience supervising small to medium-sized teams
  • English and Arabic

  • Experience supporting supply-chain strategy and implementation
  • Experience designing operational plans and scenarios with stakeholders
  • Experience troubleshooting operational issues
