Job Description
IOM seeks fourteen Field Engineer consultants in Chuuk to support reconstruction after Typhoon Sinlaku. The consultants prepare engineering specifications and cost estimates, inspect and monitor housing and public-infrastructure works, oversee quality and contractor performance, maintain project records and drawings, and coordinate delivery with communities, government and suppliers.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Prepare scopes of work, specifications, estimates, bills of quantities and construction drawings
- Inspect and supervise reconstruction activities against designs, standards and safety requirements
- Conduct damage assessments and prepare technical recommendations
- Monitor reconstruction phases and provide technical oversight
- Prepare technical and progress reports on quality, expenditures and risks
- Coordinate reconstruction with contractors, suppliers, communities and government
- Conduct quality-control inspections and review contractor performance
- Prepare final inspections, handover and as-built documentation
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field with two years of experience, or university degree with four years
- Licensed professional Engineer certification
- Licensed professional Quality Control/Quality Assurance Engineer certification
- Construction engineering and contract-management experience
- Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD or comparable design and visualisation software
