Job Description
Conducts an external evaluation of an OSRSG-CAAC regional project that strengthens protection for children affected by armed conflict in Africa. The consultant will assess the project framework, indicators, stakeholders, risks, sustainability, gender sensitivity and contribution to relevant mandates; collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data; and prepare an evaluation report with agreed recommendations for the office.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop an evaluation approach with OSRSG-CAAC
- Review the project framework, implementation process and deliverables
- Collect and analyse evaluation data
- Draft and finalize the evaluation report
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in law, political science, international relations or a related discipline; first-level degree plus five additional years may be accepted
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in peace and security, political affairs, human rights, protection or data analysis
- Monitoring and evaluation experience and experience evaluating United Nations projects
- Fluency in English, oral and written
Desired Criteria
- Experience with UN, international or regional organizations
- Experience working in Africa
- Knowledge of peace and security, human rights and protection issues in Africa
