Job Description
Supports UNOPS electrical design and construction supervision for water-supply and irrigation recovery infrastructure under Syria’s Nexus Response Mechanism. The engineer will develop solar-PV designs, conduct site assessments, monitor implementation quality and safety, coordinate engineering inputs, and prepare technical reporting that advances resilient, standards-compliant services.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and review electrical designs and technical documentation for infrastructure projects
- Design solar photovoltaic systems and associated electrical components
- Conduct site assessments and supervise electrical-system implementation
- Monitor construction quality, safety and compliance with local, international and UN standards
- Coordinate electrical works with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
- Prepare technical inputs for periodic progress reports, achievements, challenges and recommendations
- Support project scheduling and tracking of electrical deliverables
- Implement protection against sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment measures during project delivery
Role Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with 2 years of relevant experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in design or supervision of electrical systems works
- Experience designing solar photovoltaic systems and related electrical components
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Intermediate English and fluent Arabic
Desired Criteria
- Project Management certification
- Professional engineering association membership
- Experience with Primavera or MS Project
- PVsyst, ETAP, Certified Solar Professional or renewable-energy certification
- Experience in Syria and water-supply, pumping-station or borehole electrical systems
