Job Description
Supports UNCTAD’s Office of the Secretary-General with editorial and digital-communications work on trade and development. The intern drafts and adapts web stories, explainers, newsletters and social-media copy, improves clarity and search discoverability, and researches approved generative-AI practices. The work helps UNCTAD publish accesssible content for AI-mediated discovery.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Draft and adapt web stories, explainers, newsletters and social-media copy
- Improve content clarity, structure, headlines and reader navigation
- Prepare structured content for search and AI answer systems
- Research generative AI and content-provenance practices
- Test approved AI tools and prompts with human review
- Document effective editorial workflows, limitations and safeguards
Role Requirements
- Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme, or be in the final academic year of a first university degree
- Fluency in written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Studies in communications, journalism, digital media, linguistics, international relations or economics
- Knowledge of generative AI in editorial or communications work
- Understanding of source quality and structured content

Additional Information
- Unpaid full-time internship for an initial 3 months starting 1 December 2026
- Travel, accommodation, medical insurance and living expenses are the intern’s responsibility
