Job Description

The Light Vehicles Driver transports ICRC personnel and goods safely and on time in Gaza Strip under ICRC rules, traffic law and security procedures. The role manages refuelling, trip, cargo and fuel documentation; checks vehicle condition, performs minor roadside maintenance, reports incidents and road conditions, and supports the dispatcher and other drivers.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Transport people and goods safely and on time, including weekend and evening duties when instructed
  • Inform the radio room of departures and returns and follow ICRC security and radio procedures
  • Refuel vehicles, record fuel data and provide fuel bills to the dispatcher after each trip
  • Check vehicle mechanical condition and equipment before trips and during handovers
  • Perform basic roadside tasks such as changing tyres, filters or bulbs and report maintenance needs
  • Manage cargo loading, unloading and signed goods documentation when applicable
  • Report road conditions and vehicle accidents and support the Car Dispatcher and driver colleagues

Role Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience with international organizations or NGOs
  • Valid commercial driving license
  • Valid driving license with a good driving record
  • Basic English proficiency, approximately 40% or equivalent working knowledge
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Commitment to road-safety regulations and organizational policies
  • Submit a driving license with the application
