Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan and monitor weapon-contamination activities under ICRC standards
  • Assess explosive hazards and investigate incidents affecting staff and civilians
  • Coordinate training and technical support for the Myanmar Red Cross Society
  • Collect and analyse weapon-contamination and casualty data
  • Develop procedures, guidance, training materials and monitoring tools
  • Coordinate logistics and administration for field activities and workshops
  • Monitor budgets, expenditure records and operational documentation
  • Provide English and Burmese interpretation and translation during field work

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, disaster risk management, international relations, social sciences, public administration or a related field
  • Minimum two to three years of experience in humanitarian operations, weapon contamination, mine action, risk reduction or project coordination
  • Experience in data management, reporting and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Burmese and English
  • Ability to work independently in challenging environments and maintain confidentiality

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with the humanitarian context in Myanmar
  • Previous ICRC or humanitarian-organisation experience
