Job Description

Supports UNICEF’s migration from legacy analytical platforms to a modern lakehouse and analytics architecture. The data engineer contributes to migration planning, target-architecture validation, parallel runs, testing and issue resolution; develops data products and Bronze, Silver and Gold transformations; migrates Oracle warehouse and downstream assets to Databricks; and implements Unity.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Migrate Oracle data warehouse to Databricks
  • Prepare data extraction and validate mappings
  • Support target-architecture design workshops
  • Assist testing and issue resolution
  • Migrate downstream analytics assets
  • Develop Bronze Silver Gold transformations and implement Unity Catalog governance

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in information systems computer science business administration information-technology management data science or related field
  • Five years of information and communication technology Databricks lakehouse analytics data modeling or ETL experience
  • Proficiency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language
  • Microsoft Fabric Oracle DevOps Agile Scrum or Git experience
  • Databricks data-engineer or data-analyst certification
  • Country-level development fragile-setting or humanitarian-context experience
