Cultural Mediation Associate – Somali

IOM cultural mediation associate facilitating Somali-English communication for international-protection applicants in Dublin, supporting service access, vulnerability identification, referrals, community outreach and mental-health activities.

Department: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Unit

• Provide neutral, accurate and confidential Somali-English mediation and interpretation
• Support daily communication between accommodation staff and beneficiaries
• Interpret during routine information collection, case identification and referrals
• Help beneficiaries contact services and identify vulnerabilities requiring case management
• Support community engagement, awareness, logistics and beneficiary outreach
• Interpret during counselling, focus groups and psychoeducation sessions
• Prepare routine documentation and basic activity reports

• Secondary-school diploma with five years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in communications, social sciences, international relations or a related field with three years
• Experience in cultural mediation for migrant assistance
• Fluency in oral and written English
• Fluency or mother-tongue proficiency in Somali
• Valid residence and work authorisation for Ireland
