Assistant Community-Based Protection Officer

Works directly with refugees, displaced people and host communities to identify protection risks, build representative structures and shape community-based protection strategies, coordinating government and humanitarian partners while strengthening participation, accountability and field-level solutions.

Department: Protection Unit

• Build networks with refugee, displaced and stateless communities
• Integrate community perspectives into protection strategies and operational plans
• Coordinate protection priorities with government, partners and communities
• Guide implementation of community-based protection procedures
• Conduct field missions and report on protection trends and risks
• Support community representation, conflict resolution and participation
• Contribute protection data, project submissions and budgets

• Undergraduate degree with one year of relevant experience, or a graduate or doctoral degree with no prior experience
• Relevant education in international development, human rights, social work, social science, political science, anthropology, international law or a related field
• Professional experience in community services, social work, refugee protection or human rights
• English and Kurdish
