Overview

Supports IOM’s Voluntary Return and Advisory Desks by counselling migrants and refugees, screening protection risks, managing referrals and assistance records, and coordinating service access. The associate documents cases, reports implementation issues and liaises with public and humanitarian partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outreach, protection counselling and vulnerability screening at return and advisory desks
  • Assess protection needs and facilitate cash, in-kind and specialist referrals
  • Follow up with beneficiaries and coordinate access to referred services
  • Maintain confidential case, counselling and assistance records in approved systems
  • Identify implementation challenges, protection risks and referral gaps
  • Prepare administrative requests, case summaries, statistics and implementation reports
  • Support outreach, awareness raising, meetings and capacity-building activities
  • Liaise with Turkish Red Crescent staff, authorities and service providers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with three years of relevant experience, or school diploma with five years
  • Experience providing protection counselling, vulnerability screening, referrals or case-management support
  • Experience supporting vulnerable migrants and refugees with specific protection needs
  • Experience coordinating with authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and service providers
  • Experience maintaining confidential case records and information-management systems
  • Fluency in English and in either Turkish or Arabic
