Job Description

Coordinates INTERPOL’s Chemical and Explosives Terrorism Prevention Unit in Lyon. The role manages daily operations and a multidisciplinary team, leads CMX planning and programme execution, provides subject-matter expertise on chemical and explosive threats, ensures quality of analytical products and training, and maintains coordination with member countries, partners and other INTERPOL units.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of the CMX Unit operational and strategic plans
  • Lead, supervise and monitor a multidisciplinary team
  • Serve as lead subject-matter expert on chemical and explosive threats
  • Act as primary point of contact for INTERPOL Member Countries and external partners

Role Requirements

  • Three to four years' education at a university or specialized higher education establishment in a relevant field
  • Experienced police officer, able to demonstrate professional experience and training in law enforcement
  • Minimum of 5 years of CBRNE law enforcement experience preferably including specialized training in the Chemical and Explosive field
  • Professional proficiency in both written and spoken English

Desired Criteria

  • Specialized training in law enforcement operations or related disciplines is highly desirable
  • International work experience is considered a significant asset
  • Proficiency in Arabic, French or Spanish would be an additional asset
