Assistant Director Counter-Terrorism, Operations

Leads the Counter-Terrorism Operations Sub-Directorate, directing strategic and operational support, capacity building and investigative assistance for member countries. The role manages teams, projects, budgets and partnerships that advance global counter-terrorism priorities.

• Lead business planning, projects and policies for the Counter-Terrorism Operations Sub-Directorate
• Provide strategic and operational advice on current and emerging counter-terrorism threats
• Deliver capacity building, training and investigative support to member countries on counter-terrorism priorities
• Identify emerging operational issues and recommend programmes, projects, missions and funding proposals
• Develop relationships with sub-directorates, regional bureaus, National Central Bureaus and external agencies
• Pursue cooperation opportunities with member countries, partners and stakeholders to mobilise resources
• Manage sub-directorate programmes, projects, staffing, budgets and outcome reporting

• Five years of university education, preferably in law, criminal justice, public policy or police management
• Senior-level law-enforcement training
• Minimum ten years of experience in counter-terrorism or a related field with highly specialised criminal investigations expertise and regional or national operational exposure
• Leadership experience as a senior manager of a national law-enforcement agency or equivalent international law-enforcement organisation
• Sound background in strategic programme and project management, including performance monitoring, evaluation, measurement and reporting
• Experience planning and managing complex tasks with minimum supervision
• English is required

• International environment experience is highly desirable
• Computer experience including presentation, business intelligence and word processing software is required
• Proficiency in a second official working language is an additional asset
