Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead business planning, projects and policies for the Counter-Terrorism Operations Sub-Directorate
- Provide strategic and operational advice on current and emerging counter-terrorism threats
- Deliver capacity building, training and investigative support to member countries on counter-terrorism priorities
- Identify emerging operational issues and recommend programmes, projects, missions and funding proposals
- Develop relationships with sub-directorates, regional bureaus, National Central Bureaus and external agencies
- Pursue cooperation opportunities with member countries, partners and stakeholders to mobilise resources
- Manage sub-directorate programmes, projects, staffing, budgets and outcome reporting
Role Requirements
- Five years of university education, preferably in law, criminal justice, public policy or police management
- Senior-level law-enforcement training
- Minimum ten years of experience in counter-terrorism or a related field with highly specialised criminal investigations expertise and regional or national operational exposure
- Leadership experience as a senior manager of a national law-enforcement agency or equivalent international law-enforcement organisation
- Sound background in strategic programme and project management, including performance monitoring, evaluation, measurement and reporting
- Experience planning and managing complex tasks with minimum supervision
- English is required
Desired Criteria
- International environment experience is highly desirable
- Computer experience including presentation, business intelligence and word processing software is required
- Proficiency in a second official working language is an additional asset
