Consultant (CTC5)

Conducts a comparative study for UNU-IAS’s GEOC on intermediary organisations enabling community-led sustainability initiatives. The consultant interviews selected organisations, analyses governance and operating models, produces bilingual reports and presentation materials, and coordinates stakeholders and advisory-board meetings to strengthen its future function and operations.

• Arrange and conduct online interviews with selected organisations
• Develop interview reports in Japanese and English
• Summarise organisational governance, financing, scale, target sectors and activities
• Analyse factors contributing to organisational effectiveness
• Develop progress reports, a final report and advisory-board presentation slides
• Present updates at in-person Project Advisory Board meetings in Tokyo
• Coordinate interviews, meetings, schedules and day-to-day stakeholder communication

• Master’s degree in social sciences, public policy, international development, sustainable development, environmental studies or a related discipline
• At least five years of professional experience in NGO, civil-society, government or related sectors
• Experience analysing organisational governance, operating models, funding mechanisms, multi-stakeholder partnerships and institutional arrangements
• Fluency in English and Japanese
