National Research Coordinator

Coordinates a national study on women’s well-being in Solomon Islands, linking government, statistics, civil-society and donor partners while managing research operations, ethical safeguards, fieldwork quality, documentation and dissemination for evidence-based gender policy.

Department: UNFPA Solomon Islands

• Coordinate daily study activities among MWYCFA, SINSO, UNFPA and donor partners
• Provide secretariat and administrative support to the Steering Committee and Technical Advisory Group
• Manage research documentation, ethical clearances, questionnaires, training materials and risk records
• Track study preparation, digital survey adaptation, enumerator recruitment and provincial fieldwork
• Coordinate interviewer training, field logistics, survey procurement and budget tracking
• Mentor enumerators and monitor adherence to data-quality, respondent-safety and ethical standards
• Maintain referral pathways and real-time communication with provincial field teams
• Support data processing, reporting, dissemination materials and the national study launch

• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience in gender studies, sociology, public health, demography, statistics, international development, public administration or a related social science
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible experience in project management, research coordination or social-programme implementation
• Deep familiarity with Solomon Islands government and provincial structures
• Knowledge of gender-based violence, violence against women and girls, and ethical safeguards for population surveys
• Ability to manage sensitive communications and complex research documentation confidentially
• Fluency in spoken and written English and Solomon Islands Pijin

• Consultancy payments are made monthly after acceptance of monthly reports
• Primary workstation is within the relevant ministry with workspace also available at UNFPA Honiara
