Child Marriage Expert

Leads policy, programme and partnership work on adolescent and youth development and eliminating child, early and forced marriage, coordinating a regional initiative, mobilising resources, strengthening evidence and supporting government and civil-society partners.

• Provide policy advice and advocacy on adolescent development and ending child marriage
• Represent adolescent and youth priorities in UN and national coordination processes
• Build government, civil-society, donor and private-sector partnerships
• Prepare donor reports, project briefs, funding proposals and visibility materials
• Synthesize programme evidence and develop policy briefings and technical resources
• Manage the regional child-marriage programme, work plans, budgets and partners
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, financial controls and consolidated reporting
• Manage the adolescent and youth programme team and build partner capacity

• Relevant experience managing adolescent and youth programmes in Southeast or South Asia
• Experience in sexuality education, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, youth policy and capacity building
• Strong understanding of social and gender norms and programmes addressing child marriage
• Excellent drafting, formulation, reporting and partnership skills
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office, email, internet and database management
• Fluency in English

• Volunteer assignment via UNV
• Provincial travel may involve remote areas with limited infrastructure
• Some specialist health care may require travel outside Laos
