Job Description
Conducts a technical diagnosis of Veracruz’s coffee value chain for ECLAC, identifying actors, constraints and opportunities for resilient territorial development. The consultant will undertake desk and field research, coordinate interviews with government and sector stakeholders, analyse six dimensions of the chain and prepare an evidence-based diagnostic report to inform future action.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review literature and relevant studies on Veracruz’s coffee value chain
- Identify value-chain actors and coordinate field interviews with authorities and stakeholders
- Develop a diagnostic plan and data-collection instruments
- Analyse value-chain context, markets, technology, governance, support organizations and environmental factors
- Prepare a diagnostic report mapping constraints and bottlenecks
- Integrate climate, finance, bioeconomy and gender considerations into the research
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, agronomy, rural development or a related field
- At least 7 years of experience in economic development, productive development, rural development or related areas
- Excellent command of Spanish
- Must be based in Mexico
Desired Criteria
- Experience with coffee value chains
- Knowledge of value-chain actors and institutions in Mexico
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Intermediate English
