Job Description
IOM Cameroon seeks a Communication Associate to strengthen institutional visibility, stakeholder outreach and public information. The role coordinates a communications strategy, produces materials for press, web and social channels, liaises with media and partners, tracks media trends, prepares feedback reports, and supports monitoring, evaluation and donor reporting for communication activities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement a communications strategy for IOM Cameroon
- Write and produce public-information materials for press briefings, websites, social media and newsletters
- Develop and disseminate communications materials for Cameroonian society and migrants
- Create blog entries, press notes, video scripts and newsletters
- Provide key messages for media requests and interview opportunities
- Liaise with government and non-government media counterparts
- Monitor social-media discussions and local media trends
- Produce feedback reports for humanitarian partners
- Set up monitoring and evaluation activities for communication projects
- Collaborate on donor reporting
Role Requirements
- High school diploma with six years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, advertising, international affairs, information management, social sciences, political sciences or a related field with four years of relevant professional experience
- Fluency in English and French
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Internet applications
- Excellent data analysis, visualization and presentation skills
Desired Criteria
- Prior experience in social welfare work
- Previous experience with NGOs, local organizations or local governments
- Experience communicating with legal representatives
- IT skills
- Ability to use own initiative and work under pressure with minimum supervision
