Job Description
The Chief of Mission leads IOM’s country office. Under the Regional Director’s supervision, the post directs country strategy, resource mobilisation, project delivery, partnerships and UN engagement, overseeing migration programming, risk management, financial controls, reporting, staff safety and representation with government, donors and international partners.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Direct IOM’s country mandate and strategy
- Lead programme development and resource mobilisation
- Oversee project planning, design and implementation
- Represent IOM in UN Country Team and humanitarian coordination
- Direct operational, human-resources, administrative, budgetary and financial activities
- Develop strategic partnerships with government, donors and civil society
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in political or social science, international relations, business administration or a related field
- At least fifteen years of relevant professional experience
- Extensive general, project and resource-management experience
- Extensive diplomacy, fundraising, public-relations and liaison experience
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Working knowledge of another official UN language
