Job Description
Supports the World Meteorological Organization's Global Cryosphere Watch by engaging its Member network, improving the discovery of cryosphere observations in WIGOS and WIS 2.0, and redeveloping the programme website. The officer works with technical experts and the Communications Office to strengthen the integration, documentation and accessibility of cryosphere data and services.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Strengthen engagement with Global Cryosphere Watch national focal points, Members and partner organisations
- Identify and document priority cryosphere observations and datasets for WIGOS and WIS 2.0
- Improve the integration and discoverability of cryosphere data with Members and technical experts
- Support migration and redevelopment of the Global Cryosphere Watch website on the WMO web platform
- Collaborate with the WMO Communications Office on the website redevelopment
Role Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in Earth system science, cryosphere science, meteorology, hydrology, environmental science, geoinformatics, data science or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of directly relevant experience
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience in cryosphere science, Earth system science, meteorology, hydrology, environmental monitoring, Earth observations, data management or a related field
- Excellent written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Experience with international scientific or technical programmes, observational networks or environmental data systems
- Experience with WIGOS, WIS 2.0, web content management or coordination with international organisations
