Job Description
Provides quantity-surveying, cost-estimation and contract-administration expertise for UNOPS healthcare infrastructure projects in Uzbekistan. The engineer monitors bills of quantities, prepares valuations and estimates, reviews contractor payments and variations, develops documentation, reports progress, and transfers construction-management knowledge to national and contractor personnel.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor works progress through agreed bills of quantities and report delays or cost overruns
- Develop engineers estimates and review bills of quantities and rates submitted by consultants
- Check contractor payment valuations and prepare rates for additional works and variation requests
- Calculate quantities from architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings
- Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates, specifications and requirements
- Collect construction cost data and prepare monthly and quarterly progress reports
- Participate in progress reviews and project coordination meetings
- Provide quantity-surveying and construction-practice training to national and contractor personnel
Role Requirements
- Secondary school with six years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in quantity surveying and cost estimation, civil engineering, architecture, building or a related construction-management field
- Six years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimating, project engineering or building construction management with a high school diploma
- Knowledge of ABC or TNQurilish software or an alternative common in Uzbekistan
- Knowledge of Uzbekistan cost-estimation and quantity-surveying norms and standards
- Fluent English
Desired Criteria
- Certification in Quantity Surveying
- Certification in Project Management such as PRINCE2
- Knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD
- Experience in UN system organisations
