Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate internal teams and managed service providers delivering learning-platform features and support
- Manage the full Open edX application lifecycle, custom development, enhancements and service transition
- Enforce coding, testing, DevOps, documentation and WHO compliance standards through technical review
- Design API, identity, credentialing and downstream-system integration patterns
- Define data architecture and reliability targets, capacity thresholds and error budgets
- Oversee application observability through metrics, logs, traces and microservice monitoring
- Define security practices, coordinate penetration-test follow-up and manage secrets and hardened images
- Lead operational processes, vendor relationships, open-source collaboration and capability building
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering or a related field with seven years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with nine years
- Experience in software architecture and development
- Experience with large-scale cloud-native Open edX platforms
- Experience in enterprise security, compliance or data governance
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Agile Project Management or Scrum certification
- Enterprise architecture certification such as TOGAF
- Technical certification in Microsoft Azure, Red Hat OpenShift or MongoDB
- Experience with microservices, containerisation and CI/CD automation
- Experience with Python, Node.js, FastAPI, Celery or Vue.js
- Experience in education technology or large-scale learning platforms
