Summary of Responsibilities
- Design a methodology and workplan for analysing care systems in two Colombia–Ecuador border territories
- Analyse how government, families, markets and communities share care responsibilities
- Assess cross-border mobility, infrastructure, transport, services, family networks and domestic-care practices
- Identify cultural, environmental, ethnic, economic, security and gender factors shaping local care inequalities
- Map local authorities, community organisations, businesses, civil society and women's organisations involved in care
- Systematise territorial experiences and practices relevant to cross-border care policy
- Develop local and binational policy guidelines recognising care as a right and supporting migrant care workers
- Deliver the methodology, territorial analysis, policy proposal and final integrated report with presentation
Role Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in gender studies, migration, human rights or a related field, or bachelor's degree in social sciences, economics or a related field with two additional years of experience
- At least two years of applied research experience in care economics, gender equality, migration or territorial analysis
- At least one certified course of 20 hours in gender or women's rights
- At least one certified course of 20 hours in human mobility or care
- Experience producing at least two knowledge products on care systems, care policy or migration in Latin America and the Caribbean
- Fluent Spanish and working knowledge of English
- Valid Ecuadorian work visa for foreign applicants
Desired Criteria
- Experience in at least three studies or projects on cross-border dynamics, human mobility, the right to time, migration or care in Colombia, Ecuador or Andean border areas

- Intermittent consultancy at 75% dedication from the consultant's own workspace, with in-person meetings when required
- Travel to the selected Colombian border territory is expected and funded under UN Women travel policy
- Consultant must provide medical-insurance proof within the first two months
