Job Description
Leads vulnerability analysis, food-security evidence generation and data-driven targeting for WFP’s Garowe Area Office. The officer combines food, nutrition, market and resilience analysis with GIS and surveillance, advises programme decisions, strengthens data quality and capacity, and ensures that assistance targeting, monitoring and coordination respond effectively to Somalia’s needs.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead food-security and nutrition evidence generation for assessments, targeting and programme decisions
- Conduct food security, market and resilience analysis and prepare timely assessment reports
- Implement data-driven targeting for humanitarian food-assistance programmes
- Provide GIS support for surveillance, emergency risks and programme operations
- Maintain geodatabases and spatial-data infrastructure with Country Office GIS colleagues
- Coordinate data collection and analysis with government, FAO and Food Security Cluster partners
- Advise on food assistance strategies and strengthen staff, partner and government analysis capacity
- Manage market-price data, monitoring activities and VAM staff workplans
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in economics, nutrition, health, social sciences, statistics, agricultural economics, business administration or international development, or a first degree with additional relevant experience or training
- At least one year of relevant experience with an advanced degree, or at least three years with a first degree, in development, project management or food or non-food assistance management
- Fluency in English and Somali
- Somali nationality

- Experience in monitoring, evaluation, capacity building and reporting of development or humanitarian projects
