Overview

Provides confidential counselling, crisis response and preventive wellbeing support to UNICEF personnel working in Ukraine’s emergency context. The consultant conducts brief assessments, stabilizes acute cases, makes referrals and delivers workshops that strengthen staff resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential short-term individual counselling and crisis support to UNICEF personnel
  • Deliver psychological first response and stabilization following critical incidents or acute stress
  • Conduct brief psychosocial assessments and refer cases needing specialized or long-term care
  • Design and deliver at least four remote wellbeing workshops each year
  • Coordinate regularly with the National Staff Counsellor
  • Submit monthly aggregated, non-identifiable service reports
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries and trauma-informed clinical practice

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in psychology or a related field
  • Certification in a recognized psychotherapy or counselling approach
  • At least three years of individual counselling and crisis-intervention experience
  • At least three years of experience in emergency, humanitarian or other high-stress environments
  • At least three years of experience delivering psychosocial workshops or group interventions
  • Ongoing professional supervision practice
  • Fluency in English
