Supports community-based risk communication and engagement during the Ebola response in Ituri. The volunteer shares prevention messages, mobilizes local leaders, gathers community feedback and rumours, strengthens accountability channels and reports field observations to response teams.

Responsibilities

  • Share Ebola prevention and care-seeking messages in appropriate local languages
  • Identify and report community rumours, concerns, perceptions and barriers
  • Mobilize community, religious, women’s and youth leaders for outreach
  • Facilitate community dialogues, public meetings and door-to-door campaigns
  • Collect and transmit community feedback and activity data
  • Support training for community relays and document good practices

Requirements

  • Secondary-school diploma or bachelor’s degree in communication, social sciences, community development, public health, education or a related field
  • French and Kiswahili
  • Residence in Bunia
