Responsibilities
- Provide paediatric assessment, diagnosis, initial treatment, follow-up and referral for children affected by the emergency
- Assess child-health needs in affected communities, health facilities, camps and temporary shelters
- Manage prevalent childhood illnesses and prescribe medicines under current clinical protocols
- Detect public-health events, outbreaks and epidemiological risks affecting children
- Screen for acute malnutrition and refer children with warning signs or specialist-care needs
- Promote vaccination, restore interrupted immunisation schedules and counsel caregivers on child health
- Coordinate integrated care with nurses, social workers, psychologists and other mobile-team members
- Train and mentor community health personnel in early detection, referral, vaccination and nutrition risks
Requirements
- University specialist degree in Paediatrics with two years of relevant experience, or secondary education with four years of relevant experience
- Medical and paediatrics degree documentation, registration and good standing with the relevant state medical association
- Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
