Overview
Strengthens Zanzibar’s readiness for Bundibugyo virus disease by coordinating preparedness across surveillance, laboratories, infection prevention, case management, logistics and community engagement. The assignment monitors field activities, produces operational reports and helps build Ministry of Health capacity.

Responsibilities
- Implement the Bundibugyo virus disease preparedness workplan across national and district levels
- Support surveillance, laboratory, infection prevention, case management, logistics and community-engagement activities
- Conduct field missions and supervision visits in high-risk districts and points of entry
- Organise simulation exercises, drills and preparedness reviews
- Maintain activity trackers and dashboards and monitor progress against preparedness plans
- Prepare weekly updates, mission reports, situation reports and monthly preparedness reports
- Coordinate training workshops, orientations and on-the-job mentoring for Ministry of Health staff
- Organise technical meetings, record decisions and follow up agreed actions
Requirements
- Degree or professional background in medicine, public health, nursing, epidemiology, laboratory sciences, environmental health or a related discipline
- Experience supporting disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness or emergency response
- Experience working with government health systems
- English is required
