Senior Officer, Public Health in Emergencies

Oversees IFRC public-health emergency programmes with the Afghan Red Crescent, strengthening preparedness, response, mobile health teams and partner capacity; reviewing plans, budgets and standards; monitoring indicators and supplies; producing reports; coordinating health actors; and deploying nationally during emergencies.

• Plan and monitor public-health emergency programmes with the Afghan Red Crescent
• Build partner capacity in preparedness, response, evaluation and reporting
• Supervise mobile health teams, indicators, supplies and financial reporting
• Coordinate with health authorities, clusters and humanitarian partners
• Design and lead health responses during national emergencies

• Degree or equivalent experience in public health, medicine, nursing, midwifery, pharmacy or related health field
• Five to seven years managing development and emergency health programmes
• Humanitarian-sector and project-management experience
• Fluent English and at least one Afghan official language
