Overview

Provides technical and operational oversight for IFRC’s Ebola response across Beni, Butembo, Mungbwalu and Goma. The officer guides community engagement, safe burials, WASH and infection control, assures service quality, coordinates authorities and partners, and strengthens Red Cross volunteer capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Guide community engagement, safe burials, WASH and infection-control interventions
  • Assess public-health needs in Ebola-affected communities
  • Supervise service quality and monitor public-health activities
  • Coordinate authorities, humanitarian partners and emergency response units
  • Train and mentor National Society volunteers

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health, health sciences or a related field
  • At least three to five years of humanitarian or development experience focused on global health, epidemiology, surveillance or community health
  • Experience in epidemic response and health-surveillance systems
  • Fluency in French
  • Good command of English
