Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, family and group psychological support under IOM mental-health and psychosocial protocols
  • Apply Psychological First Aid and evidence-based brief interventions for people affected by the emergency
  • Identify priority mental-health conditions and arrange timely referral for specialised care
  • Assess psychosocial needs in affected communities, health facilities, camps and temporary shelters
  • Design and facilitate group support, psychoeducation and emotional-wellbeing activities for diverse populations
  • Coordinate case management and protection referrals with social workers and specialist teams
  • Train community promoters and health personnel in early detection, psychological first aid and referral pathways
  • Record confidential service data and report activities, identified needs, trends and team results

Requirements

  • University degree in Psychology with two years of relevant experience, or secondary education with four years of relevant experience
  • Psychology degree documentation, registration with the Venezuelan Federation of Psychologists and good standing with the relevant state psychologists’ association
  • Previous experience in mental health and psychosocial support, community work and team coordination
  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish
