Immunization Specialist

Provides strategic and technical leadership for UNICEF’s immunization programme, integrating vaccination within primary health care and strengthening resilient health systems. The specialist manages programme planning, delivery, monitoring, partnerships and capacity development.

Department: Immunization/EPI

• Lead immunization programme strategy and integrate vaccination services with primary health care
• Manage and coordinate the Immunization and Expanded Programme on Immunization team
• Oversee programme development, planning, implementation, monitoring and results delivery
• Provide technical guidance and operational support using results-based management
• Strengthen health systems, emergency preparedness and equitable immunization delivery
• Build partnerships, advocate for programme priorities and strengthen national capacity
• Promote innovation and knowledge management across health programmes

• Advanced university degree in public health, epidemiology, medicine, health policy, health management, pediatrics, family health, global health, health education, health research or a related field
• At least eight years of relevant experience in health, primary health care, programme management, policy development, emergency preparedness, partnerships or capacity building
• Strong experience in immunization, health systems, monitoring and evaluation, maternal and child health, and supervision
• Fluency in English

• Temporary appointment for 364 days
