Senior Adviser, Social and Behaviour Change (RCCE)New

Provides senior leadership for UNICEF’s social and behaviour change and risk communication response to the Ebola outbreak. The adviser aligns national and provincial coordination, turns community and epidemiological evidence into targeted action and guides partners across affected provinces.

• Lead UNICEF's SBC and RCCE strategy and oversight for the Ebola response
• Co-lead national and provincial RCCE coordination mechanisms with government, UN agencies and operational partners
• Align Country Office SBC priorities with Ebola incident-management and coordination structures
• Translate epidemiological, operational and community evidence into targeted RCCE action
• Advise senior leadership and influence inter-agency response priorities
• Guide field implementation through regular deployment to affected provinces and priority health zones
• Manage partnerships with government counterparts, UN agencies, community structures and RCCE partners

• Advanced university degree in social and behavioral sciences, communication for development, public health, anthropology, sociology, psychology, international development or a relevant field
• At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in social and behaviour change, RCCE, community engagement, public health emergencies or humanitarian response, including outbreak settings
• Experience leading or co-leading multi-partner RCCE coordination in complex emergencies
• Experience with social listening, community feedback systems, evidence generation and adaptive public-health programming
• Ability to advise senior leadership, influence inter-agency priorities, manage partnerships and translate evidence into operational decisions
• Fluency in English and French

• Experience with UNICEF, the UN system, government coordination mechanisms or field operations in fragile and humanitarian contexts
